Clover Sport said that ASM Global will use more than 1,000 of Clover’s concession-purchasing devices to improve services at the Caesars Superdome and the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, in an announcement from the companies.
Clover, part of financial-services provider Fiserv, said it will provide technology to support “digital, contactless, and self-service purchasing at kiosks and grab-and-go marketplaces” throughout the two venues as well as the connected Champions Square area, all part of the integrated 52-acre sports and entertainment area located in downtown New Orleans. Clover also said that its devices will be integrated with other platforms to allow for mobile ordering, fan loyalty programs, and stored-value payment options throughout the venues. According to the companies, the devices will be in place for the upcoming start of the NFL and NBA seasons.
Stadium Tech Report has seen Clover devices in use at other arenas, including Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, and UBS Arena in New York. The devices we have seen live include a mix of self-serve kiosks and terminals, where fans can place orders and pay at the same station, as well as attendant-staffed terminals where fans can order or pay quickly using the devices.
“Clover Sport provides us with the single technology solution we need to manage the complexities of multiple food and beverage events across three separate facilities as one enterprise,” said Doug Thornton, executive vice president, ASM Global, in a prepared statement. “The technology enhancement will help create a better experience for fans attending events at our New Orleans venues, while also simplifying operations for our overall organization.”
“Consumers expect digital, mobile, and self-service purchasing options, and sporting and event venue operators have a timely opportunity to build a more engaging fan experience while also modernizing their own operations,” Sandeep Bhanote, Head of Clover Sport at Fiserv, in a prepared statement. “Whether attending an NFL or NBA game, the college football playoffs, or the Super Bowl, Clover Sport will help fans in New Orleans get through lines quicker, and spend more time watching the game.”
