Amazon has added two more Just Walk Out stores in stadiums, one at the Atlanta Braves’ Truist Park and another at TQL Stadium, home of the MLA FC Cincinnati.
As seems to be typical with Amazon these days, it does not issue a press release but instead lets the team or stadium announce the stores on their own. At Truist Park the Amazon store is called The Crown Royal Walk-Off Market, and from the photo provided the stand is a smaller “drink stand” type deployment, with mainly canned beverages and one small shelf of snacks.
At TQL Stadium the Amazon store is called the SuperBook Marketplace and it seems to have been deployed in what was previously either a hallway or concourse space. The store has a little more space available, with what looks like both drinks as well as an expanded food and snack area.
By our unofficial count, Amazon now has 42 stadium-specific checkout-free stores, getting closer to market leader Zippin, which has 56. We fully expect the trend of deploying checkout-free stores in stadiums to continue, as we are already hearing rumors of big deployments going in to football stadiums, so stay tuned.
