In my 11 years of covering the stadium technology marketplace, one thing I found that makes it special is how willing all participants are to share operational information. Since stadiums don’t really “compete” against each other like teams do, it makes sense. Nobody in Minnesota is going to lose if someone in Green Bay adopts a best stadium technology idea or practice, or vice versa. But that spirit of sharing also says a lot about the camaraderie of the industry, and the quality of the people who work the jobs. They know their gained knowledge might help others, and when asked, they usually share willingly.
So to that crowd I ask — help us here at Stadium Tech Report help your peers by taking our Stadium Connectivity Outlook survey, which is now live on our site. (You can go directly to the survey via this link.) As we all brainstorm on how we might all get together in person in the future, for the time being let’s at least pool our collective data for all to share and learn from in our short-and-sweet list of questions designed to provide a snapshot of what’s happening on several stadium technology fronts.

Trust me, we heard the feedback from last year and this year’s survey is less than half as long, with many shorter and yes/no questions. But if we get enough answers I think it will still provide a wealth of valuable data about who is doing what and why, in numbers far greater than I could accomplish by making a lot of individual visits and phone calls. I explain the particulars of who should take the survey and how all data is anonymous in this post but the bottom line is: If you work in a venue IT operation, you probably know enough to take the survey so please find a couple minutes of your time and share your knowledge.
What’s in it for you? In addition to the warm glow that comes from doing a little bit of work to help others (including us here at Stadium Tech Report, who continue to bring you all our wonderful content for the subscription price of “free”) all survey participants will get a full copy of the results and a white paper with results analysis. And yes, if you want we will also send you a cool STR hat as our thanks. But don’t do it for the hat, do it for the industry and to keep the spirit of information sharing alive. It’s one of the best things about the stadium technology community, and with a couple minutes of your time you can help keep that winning streak going.
Thanks,
— Paul
